Folding Phones and Your Website.

Whether you think it’s a gimmick or not, folding phones are coming. Samsung recently unveiled their Galaxy Fold and Huawei their Mate X and with people soon to be walking around with two screen sizes in their pockets it’s time to make sure your website is ready for the future.

Responsiveness has been a thing for quite some time, but that’s not to say all websites have adopted this approach. Some sites are fully responsive making them perfect for viewing on a whatever device a person may have. Some websites have a pseudo-responsive feel with their separate mobile site. Then some websites are not responsive at all and say goodbye to a good portion of their traffic that does not have the patience to pinch and scroll all over the page.

If your website falls in the ladder two categories, it’s time for an update. People will soon have a whole new aspect ratio for your website designer to consider, a square view. Yes, most foldable phones, when unfolded, will resemble your old CRTC tv or monitor.

If your website isn’t responsive yet, consider this the kick in the pants you need and tap your web designer on the shoulder.
